Santa for Seniors

What is Santa for Seniors? Well, we simply bring Santa to a nursing home for seniors. In the spirit of Christmas, we want to bring joy to seniors in an effort to uplift their spirits with some holiday fun!

Over the years, our program has grown. Our primary game is Bingo. Santa rolls the bingo numbers and volunteers help residents see and call out their numbers. Santa for Seniors is an event that we have been doing since 2011. Since it’s start, we have added a Mrs. Claus, elves, stocking decorating, gifts for each resident, printed photos with Santa, bingo prizes, raffle give a ways, and small gifts for every staff member.

We currently serve one nursing home and rehabilitation center on the west side of Chicago. Fifty residents come down to our event and after the event ends, Santa and the elves walk the floors with a staff member to give holiday candy bags to the estimated 150 other residents. As our organization continues to grow, we are hoping to expand and host this program at other nursing homes around the city.

When residents and staff members see us coming through the doors they are excited about what we have to offer. It is always a pleasure seeing residents from previous years and meeting new ones.
